Btw.Origin actually makes it's desktop shortcuts directly to the game's exe.unlike how steam makes them stupid web shortcuts. yeah.so everything works for me just fine simply using the Origin clients' 'Play' button for games. Launched game, played a little.got the popup about using Shift+Tab to open the steam overlay.got a game card in steam. Just used the Origin client play button for the game. It 'should' just accept that it's running but, it may try an launch the EA client.not sure.Įdit: Also tried playing the game. you could try using the Steam 'Play' button in your library but, just make sure you have Origin client already running. Maybe you tried it and there was an interuption in service. despite the new client not being as user friendly as the old Origin client was-imo. But, at least you should be able to have your games working successfully. It kind of sux we're all at the mercy of this new EA client.

You want a fresh restart of the pc after you know you've completely cleaned the registry.Īt this point, you should not be getting erroneous registry entries when installing the EA client and games since there are none to begin with. Restart the PC again and double check Registry. Run a cleaning and clear out all the registry entries for anything EA related. like the free version of CCleaner for example. Now, you'll need to use a Registry Cleaner-whichever one you prefer. to include in the C:\Program Files.\folders, that need deleted. There will be several of these EA folders in those places. These are the 'Program DATA' folder and the users 'AppData' folders. Unfortunately, EA finally managed to lock me out of the Origin Client.
